2016 - Talmeshia Renae Parker
Talmeshia Parker has a Master’s Degree in Teaching Secondary English from Georgia Southern University and Bachelor of Arts in English from Valdosta State University. Her love for education moved her into the classroom as she began teaching abroad in South Korea in 2010. She spent two years teaching in Asia, working not only as an educator but as a curriculum advisory member. She currently works as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher at Langston Chapel Middle School (LCMS) in Statesboro, Georgia. At LCMS, she serves as the English department chairman, leadership team member, and school council member. She also extends duties outside of the classroom as a cheerleading coach and Junior Beta Club advisor. With many responsibilities, Talmeshia’s first priority is providing an equitable educational experience for all students. Her diligent efforts were recognized as she was awarded the LCMS 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year. As she continues her career in education, Talmeshia would like to continue to help children all over the world attain the best resources necessary for a promising future.
